About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a Cook at Lake Granbury Youth Services (LGYS), a secure residential program for at-risk male youth in Granbury, Texas. The Cook prepares and serves healthy, appealing food to youth and staff on-site, helps maintain a clean and safe kitchen and dining area, and contributes as an active member of the department team. Training is provided; candidates with related experience and/or ServSafe certification may be eligible to start above entry level. The role offers an opportunity to help create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for youth.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check, drug test, physical, and TB test.
• Must pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.
• Must have a clean driving record and an active driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Related experience and/or ServSafe certification; these may qualify a candidate to start above entry level.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve healthy and tasty food to youth and staff on-site.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and dining area.
• Participate as an active team player within the department.
