About The Position

Rosewood Village Greenbrier is hiring a Cook for its Food Service team. The Cook prepares high-quality, nutritious food for residents and guests, with attention to taste, presentation, local customs, and the overall dining experience. The role includes supervising the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director and Chef/Lead Cook, and may involve assisting with dishwashing and maintaining kitchen equipment. The position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis and is day shift, with no late nights.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Flexibility and adaptability, attention to detail, and a team-oriented approach.
Good time-management skills and a strong awareness of safety.
Current manager’s-level food handler permit.
Positive criminal background screening.
Must adhere to the company Drug Free Workplace policy; associates are subject to the policy.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of related cooking experience or equivalent.
Some software and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare attractive, colorful, high-quality meals that make each meal service an exceptional occasion.
Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director and Chef/Lead Cook.
Prepare meals consistent with local customs and tastes while following standard recipes, budgeted costs, and company policies.
Supervise or assist with washing dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
Maintain kitchen equipment properly.
Monitor water temperatures and chemical compounds as appropriate to help prevent foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
Interact with residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
