About The Position

The Cook is a key member of the restaurant team at TravelCenters of America, responsible for preparing and presenting quality food to guests. The role supports the company’s goal of returning every traveler to the road better than they came by helping provide a convenient, varied dining experience and excellent customer service. Cooks work in a collaborative environment and may perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide great customer service in a fun, trusting environment.
• Wash, chop, and sort ingredients for food preparation.
• Set up broiler, fryer, and grill stations according to line check sheets.
• Prepare products to guest specifications and follow plate presentation guides.
• Complete preparation, freezer pull, and temperature checklist sheets.
• Follow safe food handling, food storage, and waste control procedures.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations involving team members or customers.
• Maintain equipment according to operating standards.
• Prioritize work according to restaurant and guest needs.
• Communicate and build rapport with leaders and co-workers.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
