About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at University Living in Ann Arbor, MI. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $22.50 - $23.50 per hour and a stable schedule of Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 am to 7:30 pm. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing all menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring exceptional quality and attractive presentation in a timely manner. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and food temperatures. Additionally, you will connect with residents by familiarizing yourself with their preferences and needs, and participating in resident orientations.

Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
Proficient written and oral communication skills with other members of management, professional, and support staff.
Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
Must be comfortable to be in close contact to extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
Ability to work primarily indoors, but also be available to work outside for events.
Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes.
Provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion.
Ensure health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
Familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs.
Participate in resident orientations.
