About The Position

Cooks provide daily culinary experiences for residents and guests. This is a hands-on, full-service role involved in the daily operation of the kitchen and dining room. Cooks prepare meals for residents and staff, catering to residents’ preferences while serving balanced and nutritious meals. Management and team members provide training in the skills needed for the role. The employer welcomes candidates from all industries and offers flexible schedules and work hours.

Requirements

Basic culinary skills and willingness to cook from scratch and execute a variety of menu items.
Interpersonal relationship skills, passion, and empathy.
Compassion for serving others.
No educational requirements.
Minimum age of 18.
Must pass a background check and TB test.
Must obtain and maintain Serve Safe Certification.

Nice To Haves

One to three years of experience in dietary or food services.
Experience working in banquet or catering operations.

Responsibilities

Provide residents with restaurant-quality meals and beverages.
Help produce a varied, creative, and nutritious menu that considers residents’ requests; provide daily specials and fill special orders.
Follow the posted schedule and work and cleaning assignments for the front and back of the house.
Maintain proper hygiene in food handling and preparation, and meet food-service-area and personnel sanitation requirements under State Health Department regulations.
Set up food and supplies for special events in different areas throughout the community, coordinating with the building Executive Director and Lifestyle Director.
Wear the proper uniform each day.
Know and adhere to the employee handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Director or Corporate Culinary Support Team.
