About The Position

Clean2TheKore is hiring Cooks for a hospital kitchen in Nashville, Tennessee. Cooks prepare food for patients, staff, doctors, and guests, including patient meals, the retail café, the doctors' lounge, and catering orders. They keep their stations clean, safe, and organized while following standard recipes and applicable food safety, sanitation, patient safety, and privacy requirements. The role uses Computrition, the hospital's food service system.

Two schedules are available, each at 40 hours per week: 4:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. or 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. The position requires working every other weekend. Pay is $16 per hour.

Before starting, candidates must complete a background check and drug screen and meet hospital health requirements, including a TB test from the last three months, proof of specified immunizations or declinations, and a respirator fit test.

Requirements

• Obtain a Food Handler or ServSafe certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Have knowledge of patient safety and HACCP food safety rules.
• Be able to work every other weekend.
• Complete a background check and drug screen before starting.
• Meet hospital health requirements: a TB test from the last three months, proof of Tdap, MMR, Varicella, and Hep B immunization or declination, proof of flu immunization or declination, and a respirator fit test.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of cooking experience preferred.
• Comfort using computer software to enter and look up information preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food using standard recipes to ensure consistent results.
• Cook for patient meals, the retail café, the doctors' lounge, and catering orders.
• Keep the work station clean and organized and follow HACCP and sanitation rules.
• Help maintain appropriate stock and follow product and vendor rules.
• Follow OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA rules.
• Greet and communicate with patients and guests using AIDET.
• Use Computrition, the hospital's food service system.
