About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare and serve nutritious, flavorful, high-quality meals for residents. The Cook prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and established Benchmark policies and procedures. The Food Services Director oversees the work to help ensure quality food service at all times. The role offers reliable, schedule-stabilizing hours and involves working with kitchen equipment and supporting timely meal preparation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of dietary experience.
Knowledge of dietary procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to food service operations.
Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand in one place for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Ensure all dietary procedures are followed.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, which may include a meat slicer, food processor, mixers, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwasher, dumb waiter, and warmer cabinets.
Assist in establishing the food production line so meals are prepared on time.
Represent the community with a positive attitude and pride when interacting with potential residents and families.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals with high-quality presentation and flavor.
