About The Position

Aspire Rural Health System is hiring a Cook for its Dietary Department at The Heartlands in Marlette, Michigan. The role is part-time, with hours of 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Cook prepares food according to applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as the organization's established policies and procedures and directions from the Food Service Team Leader, to ensure quality food service. The organization seeks a positive, mature, friendly person who enjoys working with people and has a genuine desire to assist older adults with dementia. CPR/First Aid training can be provided if needed.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified; training may be provided if needed.
• Must communicate well with residents, their family members, and other staff.
• Must be mature, friendly, and enjoy working with people.
• Must maintain a neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
• Must have a genuine desire to assist older adults with dementia.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with older adults is desired.
• Previous experience in a healthcare facility food service department is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, established policies and procedures, and directions from the Food Service Team Leader.
• Help ensure quality food service is provided at all times.
