About The Position

Cooks at Cascade Senior Care Center prepare nourishing meals for guests and uphold food-service quality standards. Working closely with the Executive Chef, they help create and review menus, prepare food, and ensure meals follow portion-control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies. The role includes coordinating food production with meal service and supporting kitchen cleaning and meal assembly. Cooks also provide hospitable, excellent customer service to guests, their families, and visitors, helping foster a positive environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing-care facility, or other related medical facility.
• Strong knowledge of food procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills and commitment to delivering excellent, passionate, innovative care.
• Ability to work as a team player and support team members.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a long-term-care facility is highly desirable.
• Supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing-care facility, or other related medical facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate food production with meal-serving times to ensure quality, temperature, and appearance standards are met.
• Assist with tray-line setup and plate assembly as needed.
• Assist with daily kitchen cleaning requirements.
• Provide hospitality and excellent customer service to guests, families, and visitors, and help promote a positive, healthy environment.
• Work with the Executive Chef to create and review menus and prepare food according to portion-control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies.
