About The Position

Apple Valley Health Care Center and Apple Valley Villa, two Cassia communities, are hiring an on-call Cook to join their culinary team. The Cook prepares meals that provide comfort and nourishment to residents and is cross-trained to work in both buildings. The position offers consistent hours, no late nights, and the opportunity to develop culinary skills in a welcoming, supportive environment. The Culinary Department is a close-knit team valued by residents and staff.

The position pays $20–$22 per hour, depending on experience. Apple Valley Village Health Care Center is a 162-bed long-term care and rehabilitation campus serving short-term rehabilitation patients and long-term residents. Apple Valley Villa describes its community as a family-oriented setting that values teamwork and respect.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of commercial cooking or food preparation experience.
• Pass required background checks.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to stand for the length of the shift.

Nice To Haves

• Prior dining or serving experience.
• Baking experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fast, friendly, and excellent customer service to residents and all guests.
• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and quality standards.
• Observe and report low stock or high-demand menu choices.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition or abilities.
• Participate in meetings and required training to maintain regulatory food-service standards.
• Inspect the kitchen for compliance with government and company safety and sanitation requirements.
• Perform additional tasks as needed.
• Cross-train and work between both buildings.
