About The Position
The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food and Nutrition Services is seeking a Cook I. Under direct supervision, the Cook I performs general cooking duties using standardized recipes and carries out other food preparation and sanitation duties as required. This is a regular salaried position in Iowa City, Iowa. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 4:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m., and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. The position is 100% time, with a stated pay rate of $17.93 per hour. The University of Iowa Health Care is an academic medical center and regional referral center. More than 12,000 employees, students, and volunteers work together to provide safe, quality health care and service to patients.

- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cooking, food preparation, and meal service using standardized recipes and procedures.
- Clean and sanitize the cooking area according to standard sanitation procedures.
- Check food against predetermined quality standards before service.
- Perform other preparation and sanitation duties as required.
