About The Position
The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food and Nutrition Services is seeking a Cook I to perform a variety of tasks under direct supervision. The role performs general cooking duties using standardized recipes and completes other preparation and sanitation duties as required. The position is a regular salaried role located in Iowa City, Iowa, with a stated pay rate of $17.93 per hour. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 4:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m., and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. University of Iowa Health Care is described as Iowa’s only comprehensive academic medical center and a regional referral center. Responsibilities
- Perform general cooking, food preparation, and meal service using standardized recipes and procedures.
- Clean and sanitize the cooking area according to standard sanitation procedures.
- Check food against predetermined quality standards prior to service.
- Perform other preparation and sanitation duties as required.
