About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our binational business in the United States and Mexico. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish) and have strong experience in U.S. GAAP, along with knowledge of Mexican accounting standards and tax regulations. This role is responsible for leading the accounting department, ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance in both countries, and supporting executive leadership with financial analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP required
  • Experience with Mexican accounting and tax regulations required
  • Proven ability to manage teams of 10+ employees
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Strong ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work across cultures and manage cross-border operations in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the accounting department, including approximately 12 employees across multiple locations
  • Oversee preparation and consolidation of financial statements for U.S. and Mexico operations
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and Mexican fiscal/accounting regulations
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
  • Oversee tax filings and compliance in both the U.S. and Mexico
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Monitor financial performance and provide timely reports, forecasts, and recommendations to leadership
  • Support strategic decision-making with financial analysis and insights
  • Lead budgeting, monthly P&L reviews, and annual audits for both countries
  • Guide cross-border financial processes including transfer pricing and international transactions
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff to improve performance and efficiency
