About The Position

The Controller at Signia by Hilton San Jose oversees the hotel’s financial operations, compliance, planning, and transaction approvals while advising hotel leadership and developing the finance team. The role is based at a hotel in downtown San Jose, across from Plaza de César Chávez Park and within walking distance of the San Jose Convention Center. The ideal candidate has at least three years of hotel finance management experience and knowledge of Hilton systems; union experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and implement internal controls to safeguard hotel assets.
• Prepare the annual plan, projections, and budgets, and provide insights and counsel to hotel management, corporate offices, and ownership.
• Review and authorize hotel sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses to support financial integrity and cost control.
• Help department heads interpret financial data and recommend strategies to maximize profitability.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor team members; conduct performance evaluations, provide professional development opportunities, and recognize achievements to build, retain, and engage a high-performing team.
