About The Position

Under minimal supervision, performs financial and costing activities for the assigned division Digitran a unit of Electro Switch Corporation, which requires strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technology skills. The Controller is the financial support person for the General Manager of the division. The Controller is also responsible for Human Resources.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in accounting or equivalent in coursework and work experience.
  • Min 5 years experience.
  • Proficiency in analysis of complex variable.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as procedures manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Experience with accounting software system and ERP systems, Syteline is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • This individual must have at least 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment with strong cost accounting and inventory control experience.
  • Be knowledgeable of ERP system.
  • The individual must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • As with all employees this position is responsible to ensure safety controls are understood and maintained at all times including but not limited to his/her immediate domain of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise subordinates in the finance department.
  • Develop cost standards for materials and labor.
  • Evaluate inventories for obsolete or slow-moving items and establish and maintain reserves for such obsolete or slow-moving items.
  • Analyze production costs and recommend changes.
  • Prepare cost of goods sold and MLO report
  • Prepare monthly financial reports
  • Oversee physical inventories (cycle counts, as applicable)
  • Review all month-end journal entries
  • Analyze variance accounts
  • Assist with budget and forecast preparation and monthly reporting of budget to actual variances.
  • Evaluate for sound accounting practice and recommend changes as needed.
  • Drive continual improvements in controls, processes and procedures.
  • Assist with annual financial audit and outside agency audits.
  • Evaluate credit terms for new and existing customers and approve the terms or make recommendations for approval from General Manager.
  • Adhere to Corporate AP payment policy.
  • Review biweekly payroll processing.
  • Review Customer Contracts from a Financial and DFAR aspect.
  • Other projects as requested by the General Manager or VP of Finance.
  • Administration and implementation of all phases in human resources including employment, compensation, group benefits, labor relations, training and recruitment.
  • Assures that company employment, safety, personnel, and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with provisions of regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate with the GM or Corporate or legal counsel in the disciplinary process leading to possible termination of employees.
  • Recommend HR policies to the GM and implement them keeping the HR Employee Manual up to date with the regulatory requirements.
  • Be knowledgeable of California and Federal human resources and employment laws participating in external seminars and meetings.
  • Process 401K enrollment and changes.
