About The Position

CLA is seeking a Controller for its Construction CAAS practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. CAAS helps clients transform their businesses through a collaborative approach to mitigating risk, overcoming challenges, meeting deadlines, and addressing workforce needs. The Controller acts as the controller for designated clients and serves as a consultant and advisor on accounting and finance best practices. The role also involves managing multiple clients, projects, and deadlines; preparing and analyzing financial statements; and advising management on financial objectives, policies, and actions.

Requirements

• Seven years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience.
• Bachelor’s degree; a combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

• Public accounting experience.
• Construction experience.
• CPA certification.
• Prior project management and client management experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for designated clients.
• Advise clients on accounting and finance best practices.
• Manage multiple clients, projects, work, and deadlines using project management expertise.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Build opportunities and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of client organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
