The CAAS (Client Accounting Advisory Services) practice helps clients transform their businesses by mitigating risk, overcoming challenges, meeting deadlines, and identifying workforce solutions. CLA is seeking to hire a Controller for its Non-Profit Services (CAAS) practice in Southern New England, with opportunities available in Quincy, Andover, Boston, Worcester, New Bedford, MA, and Cranston, RI.
Requirements
- Seven years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Nice To Haves
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in Nonprofit is highly preferred.
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Controller for designated clients.
- Serve as a consultant and advisor to clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related engagements.
- Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
- Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
- Foster and build opportunities and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
- Maintain knowledge of client organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
- Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
