About The Position

The Control Room Operator runs and monitors plant equipment from the control room using DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems. The role involves adjusting process settings to maintain production and product quality, monitoring alarms, trends, and camera feeds, and responding quickly to process upsets. The operator works with field operators and maintenance to troubleshoot problems, records production data and downtime, and keeps shift leads informed. This position supports continuous plant operations on rotating shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of how processing equipment operates.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage several systems at once.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and clear communication by radio and in person.
Availability for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of experience in a plant control room, such as mining, processing, oil and gas, or a related industry.
Hands-on experience with SCADA, DCS, or PLC control systems.
Associate degree or technical certification.
Frac sand mining or bulk materials processing experience.
OSHA or MSHA safety training or certifications.
Familiarity with quality control procedures for sand products.
