Group: Communications Position: Contracts Manager Location: Indianapolis, IN (on-site) We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative Contracts Manager to lead contract administration and support firmwide risk management at American Structurepoint. This role is responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and administering professional services contracts—including prime agreements, subconsultant agreements, teaming agreements, and other contractual documents—while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements. The Contracts Manager works closely with executives, project managers, legal advisors, and internal support departments to identify contractual risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and maintain consistent standards across all contract types. The ideal candidate brings strong legal knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in contract administration or contract management, preferably within the A/E/C industry or professional services
  • Strong working knowledge of contractual language, risk allocation principles, and professional services contracting
  • Demonstrated ability to review and interpret complex terms and conditions and provide clear recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information effectively
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management systems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across departments and with external partners

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with state, federal, and municipal government contracting is preferred
  • Certification or coursework in contract management (e.g., NCMA, IACCM) is preferred
  • Familiarity with insurance requirements and risk management for professional services firms is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead contract review, negotiation, and administration for prime and sub-tier government, municipal, and commercial agreements.
  • Analyze scopes of services, contractual terms, insurance requirements, and risk factors to provide informed guidance to leadership and project teams.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, letters of commitment, and subconsultant agreements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, HR, Accounting, and other departments to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and flow-down requirements.
  • Review, format, and edit fee proposals for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards and branding.
  • Maintain contract templates, clause libraries, and standardized terms to ensure consistency across the firm.
  • Support contract compliance efforts throughout the project lifecycle, including modifications, amendments, insurance review, and risk management activities.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to Contracts team members, assist with their development and supporting consistent work quality.
  • Maintain accurate records, historical documentation, and contract databases in accordance with company procedures.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop solutions to contract-related issues and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between the Contracts department and other internal business units.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the department and organizational initiatives.
