About The Position

The Department of Mental Health is seeking to hire an intern who will support the Northeast Area (NEA) in collecting, analyzing, and comparing demographic and socioeconomic information for the DMH's services in the Northeast Area (NEA) and identifying gaps in our service delivery based on this data and developing a framework for engagement of the identified underserved populations. The intern will also research and develop an independent living skills assessment to be used as a tool for transition planning for youth and young adults served by the DMH’s NEA; and identify and address staff and/or provider training needs to implement/incorporate the assessment tool as needed. Additionally, the intern will assess and make recommendations for the DMH NEA SharePoint Site for forms and other relevant content. The intern will work with the Director of Program Management to identify needs and modernize tracking and data systems relative to clinical risk reviews, Mental Illness/Problematic Sexual Behavior (MI/PSB), and other consultations, and service authorization practices to be in better alignment with and allow for better synergy for supporting the DMH NEA client population. An ideal candidate for this position, would be an intern who can juggle a few different projects at once, with different deadlines, and will be solution-focus when they run into an barriers.
