About The Position

The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking to hire an intern who will support the Commissioner's Office in Central Office Boston.

Requirements

• Criminal background check will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired.
• Education, licensure and certifications will be verified in accordance with the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines.
• Education and license/certification information provided by the selected candidate(s) is subject to the Massachusetts Public Records Law and may be published on the Commonwealth’s website.
• Successful candidates will be required to acknowledge and attest to your vaccination status for both COVID-19 and Influenza.

Nice To Haves

• Strong writing and communication skills
• Strong quantitative analysis skills(Experience with Excel, Tableau preferred)
• Coursework and/or experience working with data analysis and visualization tools
• Bilingual or multilingual fluency.

Responsibilities

• Advance strategies to mitigate risks of limited system capacity by improving inpatient discharge processes.
• Assist with process mapping and workflow documentation related to inpatient discharge planning and intra-agency coordination.
• Support development of standardized tools to facilitate process improvements, such as meeting facilitation guides, tracking templates, and process documentation.
• Support re-procurement of DMH’s flagship community behavioral health services
• Conduct analysis of client trends to support potential programmatic changes, particularly analysis of client incident rates
• Support preparation for, and synthesis of, internal and potentially external stakeholder focus groups regarding program successes and challenges to date
