About The Position

The Montana Department of Corrections is hiring a part-time Contract Manager for its Community Corrections Facilities & Programs Bureau at the Central Office in Helena, Montana. The role supports the effectiveness of Montana’s community corrections system through contract oversight and quality assurance, contributing to public safety and the rehabilitation and welfare of offenders transitioning back into communities. The Contract Manager oversees contracts and facility performance, helps ensure operations comply with state regulations, and supports offender placement and length-of-stay decisions. The position coordinates across divisions and responds to evolving business needs.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience considered case by case.
Two years of experience in Human Services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience considered case by case.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage community corrections contracts from start to finish.
Coordinate initiatives across multiple divisions and respond to evolving business needs.
Navigate contract amendments and resolve issues involving facilities, offenders, and families.
Support offender placement decisions and manage length-of-stay considerations.
Use communication and analytical skills to support integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.
Monitor contractual and facility compliance to ensure high-quality operations.
