About The Position

AHIP is looking for an experienced Contract and Compliance Specialist to join their team. AHIP is the foremost health insurance advocacy organization in the nation, striving to make healthcare better and coverage more affordable for every American. The position is responsible for supporting the in-house legal team in various areas, including the contracting process and enterprise compliance functions. This involves cataloging and complying with contractual and regulatory requirements. The role requires a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented approach to project management within a legal and compliance setting, with close collaboration across departments and appropriate handling of confidential materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Strong analytic skills.
  • Proficient with productivity tools, including databases and AI.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with contracts and contract management.
  • Certification as a project manager or 1 year of experience with project management.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting, organizing, tracking, and maintaining organizational compliance with obligations arising from contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Documenting, organizing, tracking, and maintaining compliance of third-party vendors with the organization’s contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinating the gathering of information to respond to compliance obligations from contractual and regulatory requirements, including external audits, risk assessments, and attestation requirements.
  • Preparing and organizing related materials from the organization and, where necessary, from third-party vendors.
  • Performing preliminary reviews of certain contracts to identify variations from template language, missing clauses, and other issues.
  • Finalizing certain contracts, including version management and proofing.
  • Supporting the Legal Department's work with contract and compliance-related software platforms.
  • Identifying and supporting best practices in contracting, including through technology and clause libraries.
  • Performing other tasks and duties as assigned.
