About The Position

The Contested Foreclosure Specialist III supports the Foreclosure Department with litigation matters associated with foreclosure accounts. The role manages an assigned portfolio of contested cases and provides litigation support to more junior specialists and outside legal firms. This includes appearing in person or by telephone as a records custodian and fact witness at trials, depositions, and mediations, explaining mortgage servicing processes under oath. Travel is required, including in-person travel for trials that do not permit telephonic witnesses; the position may require travel more than 50% of the time. The specialist reviews and interprets mortgage loan documents, settles cases within delegated authority, processes requests from assigned attorneys, coordinates discovery responses, researches relevant legal issues, and supports legal recovery efforts. The role tracks account actions, discovery, and witness obligations in designated servicing and tracking systems, escalates issues and trends, and coordinates with management and teammates to ensure court appearances are covered. The essential functions must be performed on-site. The company also emphasizes in-person presence for oversight, training, collaboration, and productivity. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of direct foreclosure or mortgage servicing experience, including at least three years of litigation resolution experience. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, as is experience in a law firm or the legal field. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel more than 50% of the time.
