Content Strategy Manager

TKO•New York, NY
•$75,000 - $100,000

About The Position

On Location is seeking an experienced content strategist and writer to shape how the company communicates its products, services, and capabilities to B2B and enterprise clients, brands, rightsholders, partners, and high-net-worth audiences. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Marketing & Content Strategy, this role turns complex offerings and input from multiple stakeholders into clear, persuasive stories that support business development, revenue growth, and client engagement. The role spans On Location Amplify, Platinum and bespoke programming, enterprise partnerships, and the broader core business, with support for LA28 enterprise communications and the Platinum Access team as needed. It connects hospitality, access, custom programs, and marketing services to each audience’s priorities. This is a hands-on position combining content strategy with the creation and editing of client-facing materials. The manager works across teams and changing priorities, using sound judgment to turn emerging ideas into actionable content. The role also maintains content resources and archives, coordinates stakeholders and review cycles, and partners with creative teams on designed materials; dedicated creative resources own graphic design, visual templates, and production.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in content strategy, integrated marketing, brand storytelling, editorial or business communications, or equivalent experience demonstrating independent ownership of complex client-facing content.
  • A strong portfolio of strategic writing, including proposals, RFP responses, capability presentations, or case studies, demonstrating adaptation to different brands and audiences.
  • Ability to turn complex offerings and input from multiple subject matter experts into a clear narrative with a consistent voice.
  • Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with careful attention to accuracy and the judgment to challenge unclear or unsupported claims.
  • Experience collaborating across functions, managing competing content priorities, and moving deliverables forward with limited direction.
  • Resourcefulness, follow-through, and a practical approach to problem-solving; comfort working in a small team, navigating ambiguity, and shifting priorities as the business evolves.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional content planning calls and align stakeholders on needs, priorities, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Experience overseeing editorial calendars and coordinating content development and publication schedules across teams and channels.
  • Proficiency with presentation and document tools such as PowerPoint, Keynote, and Microsoft Word, and comfort using shared content repositories and project tracking tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing immediate deliverables.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in sports, entertainment, hospitality, travel, experiential marketing, or an agency serving enterprise clients and brands.
  • Familiarity with custom guest programs, brand activations, sponsorships, or rightsholder partnerships, and experience translating these capabilities into client-facing content.
  • Experience developing executive- or board-level presentations and building reusable editorial systems in a growing business.
  • Experience using Asana and Airtable to track content projects, manage deadlines, and maintain visibility into deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Develop messaging and positioning that clarify the relationship between On Location’s enterprise offering, On Location Amplify capabilities, Platinum programs, and bespoke experiences, in partnership with business leaders.
  • Own content strategy, narrative structure, and writing for capability decks, executive presentations, RFPs, Platinum proposals, and sales materials.
  • Translate operational details into compelling accounts of client opportunities and On Location’s ability to deliver.
  • Create and edit enterprise newsletter content for core events and dedicated LA28 editions, shaping editorial angles, product spotlights, and calls to action around audience needs.
  • Project manage newsletter content inputs, review cycles, design handoffs, and distribution; propose and manage an editorial calendar for all newsletters.
  • Develop case studies demonstrating On Location Amplify’s capabilities and results; gather delivery-team input, research photo and video archives, verify claims, and coordinate brand and rightsholder permissions.
  • Build reusable content frameworks, proposal structures, messaging libraries, and approved content modules, and partner with creative teams to turn them into designed templates.
  • Connect stakeholders across Product Marketing, Platinum, curation, enterprise partnerships, business development, operations, and creative to surface expertise, resolve content gaps, and maintain consistency.
  • Own content milestones, consolidate feedback, flag missing inputs or blockers, maintain current and accessible content resources, and coordinate schedules and dependencies with project owners.
  • Brief creative teams on audiences, story hierarchy, and supporting imagery; review designed materials for content accuracy and clarity.
  • Apply editorial judgment by checking facts, proofreading, simplifying complex language, and confirming deliverables meet briefs and approval requirements.
  • Lead strategic planning for content and broader brand messaging, ensuring alignment across On Location teams, platforms, and touchpoints.
  • Create and structure persuasive RFPs, presentation decks, internal and external newsletters, sales collateral, storylines, and talking points to support client retention and new business.
  • Lead the content workstream for On Location Amplify RFPs: interpret briefs, identify contributors, develop narratives, and synthesize submissions into a cohesive voice; coordinate deadlines and reviews with the RFP Account lead. Business development owns the client pitch and commercial response.
  • Tailor narratives to each client’s brand, audience, and objectives rather than reusing prior pitches without considering relevance.
  • Maintain and organize knowledge bases, archives, and a self-serve content/resource library, ensuring materials are tagged and filed for easy retrieval.
  • Lead cross-functional content planning calls, align stakeholders on upcoming needs and priorities, and ensure clear ownership and follow-through.
