About The Position

Skift Studio, our in-house branded content division, is seeking an analytical, strategy-minded Content Research Lead. This role requires a versatile communicator comfortable with early-stage pitch work and hands-on production, blending research design, editorial craft, client management, and live-event hosting. The successful candidate will help leading travel brands transform data into compelling narratives, utilizing AI tools thoughtfully to enhance workflows while maintaining a human-first standard. This is a fully remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the UK, with the requirement to work USA East Coast hours. The Content Research Lead will drive the research engine and narrative voice behind Skift Studio's best-in-class multi-platform programs for commercial partners, ensuring sponsor-funded content meets the same rigorous standards as Skift's core journalism.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in a high-output marketing, agency, or editorial setting (B2B digital publishing preferred).
  • Prior exposure to content marketing around enterprise software and digital advertising.
  • Hands-on experience running survey studies (SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, or similar).
  • Proficiency in basic statistical analysis.
  • Ability to shape raw data into clear, narrative-driven insights for executive audiences.
  • Comfort using AI accelerators for early drafting and research.
  • Familiarity with standard tools such as WordPress, HubSpot, and Google Drive.
  • Experience managing client relationships and feedback.
  • Experience building sales materials and proposals.
  • Confidence in speaking in front of live audiences with journalistic rigor.
  • Genuine interest in business and consumer trends across online travel, tech, customer experience, digital transformation, and media.
  • Full English fluency, written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to ideate, write, edit, and proof multi-format copy in a polished, professional tone free of errors.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage sponsor-funded quantitative research projects from inception to completion, including writing survey instruments, coordinating executive panel recruitment, cleaning and analyzing data, and translating findings into sponsor-facing insights.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on pre-sale ideation to develop research-driven proposals that differentiate Skift Studio's commercial offerings.
  • Write and/or manage freelance talent in producing sponsored content across various formats such as short articles, long-form reports, insight decks, presentations, and video scripts.
  • Utilize AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to expedite early ideation, outlining, interview preparation, and desk research, while upholding Skift Studio's editorial standards, originality, and fact-checking requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day sponsor relationships, including reviewing deliverables, incorporating feedback, ensuring timely project completion, and maximizing content visibility across platforms.
  • Research, script, and host partner events, both live and virtual, including sponsored Skift Summit/Forum talks, custom panels, and webinars.
  • Collaborate with the internal studio team to continuously refine the product suite and research-driven formats.
