About The Position

The Orange County, California office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Consumer Warranty Practice. The practice defends manufacturers and other clients in consumer warranty litigation, including claims involving automobiles, heavy-duty trucks, recreational vehicles, boats, motorcycles, and other products. Attorneys may serve as trial counsel in federal and state courts and as local, regional, or national coordinating counsel on large matters involving multiple parties. The successful candidate will handle litigation tasks such as drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. Candidates should have strong writing and analytical skills and be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and contribute as part of a team. Although consumer warranty law experience is preferred, the firm also welcomes talented attorneys with substantive litigation experience and an interest in consumer warranty law.

Requirements

Admission to practice law in California.
One to seven years of experience defending consumer litigation claims.
Experience with relevant laws, including the Song-Beverly Act, Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, state lemon laws, Uniform Commercial Codes, and consumer sales practices acts.
Strong writing and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in consumer warranty law.
