About The Position
The Consultant, Software Engineer designs and writes production scripts to resolve live application incidents across insurance platforms. The role includes mainframe development and support, database engineering, and use of IT service management processes and tools. The position works in a hybrid, normal office environment and may have on-call responsibilities after normal working hours and/or on weekends. It is exempt and not eligible for overtime.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Five years of experience performing the listed duties.
- Experience with COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and IBM mainframe tools.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Developer, PL/SQL, and stored procedures.
- Experience using ServiceNow and Jira.
Responsibilities
- Design and write production scripts to resolve live application incidents across insurance platforms.
- Perform mainframe development and support, including design, coding, debugging, and maintenance of online and batch programs.
- Write advanced SQL queries to support data remediation, production fixes, and business reporting needs.
- Use ITSM processes, including Incident Management, Defect Management, Problem Management, and Knowledge Management.
