About The Position

Nationwide’s Technology team is seeking a Consultant, Software Engineer to design and develop business services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Oracle. The role includes developing REST- and SOAP-based APIs with JAX-WS and API Management tools, and migrating current APIs to microservices. The engineer will participate in system interaction, service interface, and domain model design for enhancements and new functionality, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. The position requires a master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications and three years of experience performing the listed duties. The role is hybrid, with possible on-call responsibility after normal working hours and/or on weekends. It is exempt and not eligible for overtime.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications.
Three years of experience performing the listed duties.

Responsibilities

Design and develop business services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Oracle.
Develop REST- and SOAP-based APIs using JAX-WS and API Management tools.
Perform peer code and design reviews to ensure code standards and best practices are followed.
Engage in design of system interactions, service interfaces, and domain models for enhancements and new functionality.
Migrate current APIs to microservices.
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
