About The Position

The Software Engineer designs and develops business services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Oracle. The role develops REST- and SOAP-based APIs using JAX-WS and API Management tools, and participates in design of system interactions, service interfaces, and domain models for new enhancements and functionality. The engineer also migrates existing APIs to microservices and creates and maintains CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. The position regularly and consistently demonstrates Nationwide Values. It has a hybrid work environment in a normal office setting. Associates may have on-call responsibilities after normal working hours and/or on weekends. The role is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications.
Three years of experience performing the listed job duties.

Responsibilities

Design and develop business services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Oracle.
Develop REST- and SOAP-based APIs using JAX-WS and API Management tools.
Perform peer code and design reviews to ensure code standards and best practices are followed.
Participate in the design of system interactions, service interfaces, and domain models for new enhancements and functionality.
Migrate current APIs to microservices.
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Regularly and consistently demonstrate Nationwide Values.
