About The Position

As a Consultant in IPM’s national Project Portfolio Management practice, you will work with IPM engagement leads and client teams to help organizations strengthen how they plan, prioritize, and deliver portfolios. Depending on client needs and maturity, you may support current-state assessments and improvement roadmaps; serve hands-on in a client PMO, managing portfolio reporting, governance cadences, resource tracking, and steering committee materials; or help build and roll out processes, templates, and tools while coaching project teams in new ways of working. The role focuses on enterprise and functional PMOs, particularly new product development, strategic initiatives, and business execution, and provides exposure to different clients and industries. It does not involve managing IT systems implementations or infrastructure projects, application development, cybersecurity, or technology operations. IPM’s PPM practice helps clients improve portfolio management maturity to reduce risk and strengthen decision-making, communication, governance, resource allocation, and prioritization. Work may include assessing and enhancing existing PMOs, establishing PMO and PPM capabilities, developing portfolio frameworks and customized prioritization models, and building resource planning models that account for financial and human-resource constraints. Frameworks may include processes, governance, tools, capabilities, and leadership, and PMOs may include EPMO, TMO, SRO, or VMO variations. IPM describes its culture as caring, nurturing, inclusive, and collaborative, with transparent communication, team-building events, internal support, and opportunities for professional development and promotion from within. The company offers diverse client projects and a comprehensive compensation and benefits program. Its hybrid work environment requires at least three days in the office, with flexible specific days; client and project requirements may increase onsite expectations. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is not available.
