About The Position

The Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Functional Owner is a key member of the Engineering Program Management Office (PMO), helping establish standard project, program, and portfolio management processes supported by a PPM digital toolset. The department covers Research & Development, New Product Introductions, Major Type Design Changes, and Cost Out projects—multi-year efforts governed by a tollgate process and planned using a waterfall methodology. Processes include initiation, work breakdown structure, planning, resource management, project execution, risk management, cost, and monitoring and controlling. The role primarily supports the Clarity PPM application using Modern UX. It is a functional role partnering with a Digital Technology team that provides technical application support, and may also involve techno-functional work and data movement or solutions across tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Deltek. Primary responsibilities include onboarding programs and projects from existing tools into Clarity through migration, fit-gap analysis, requirements gathering, training, and launch hyper-care support. The role also provides level 2 functional support requiring business context, supports maintenance and regression testing for upgrades, and engages customers through office hours, health checks, and user feedback. As a secondary responsibility, the role maps current-state processes to identify lean waste and align with GE policies and the Engineering handbook, helping shape program management policy and enterprise applications. It also researches industry standards and performs fit-gap analysis to address problems and opportunities. Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required. Employment is contingent on demonstrating U.S. Person status as a U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or person granted asylee or refugee status. GE Aerospace will employ only people legally authorized to work in the United States. Any offer is conditioned on successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable; employees may also be subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
