Construction Technician Parkersburg/Charleston WV
About The Position
Segra is hiring a full-time Construction Technician to oversee construction activities at multiple worksites within the assigned market of Parkersburg/Charleston, West Virginia. The position primarily supervises construction contractors in the field and plans, implements, and oversees construction efforts. The technician reports field progress to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager, helping ensure projects meet estimated timelines, quality expectations, company standards, and best practices. The role participates in a rotational 24x7 on-call schedule. The work arrangement is onsite in the office five days each week, with some daily and overnight travel expected.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of fiber, telecommunications, right-of-way (ROW), or relevant construction experience.
- Ability to effectively lead a crew to complete work in accordance with schedules, customer requirements, and budget guidelines.
- Excellent understanding of construction and permitting prints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
- Basic experience using Microsoft Excel formulations, Word, and Outlook.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities

- Ensure the quality of construction activities and adherence to company standards and best practices.
- Lead crews to complete work in accordance with schedules, customer requirements, and budget guidelines.
- Assist with monitoring and reporting inventory and material usage during construction.
- Help identify and troubleshoot construction problems and provide timely, safe solutions.
- Participate in a rotational 24x7 on-call schedule.
