Construction Technician Parkersburg/Charleston WV
About The Position
Segra is hiring a full-time Construction Technician to oversee construction activities at multiple work sites within the designated market. The role primarily supervises construction contractors in the field, plans and implements construction efforts, and monitors progress against project timelines. The technician reports field progress to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager and ensures construction quality, company standards, and best practices throughout the construction cycle. This position participates in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule and requires some daily and overnight travel. The work arrangement is onsite in an office five days each week.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of fiber, telecommunications, right-of-way (ROW), or relevant construction experience.
- Ability to lead a crew to completion of work in conformance with schedules, customer requirements, and budget guidelines.
- Excellent understanding of construction and permitting prints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
- Some daily and overnight travel is expected.
- Basic experience with Microsoft Excel formulations, Word, and Outlook.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities

- Report field progress to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager to help ensure projects meet estimated timelines.
- Ensure the quality of construction activities and that company standards and best practices are followed throughout the construction cycle.
- Assist with monitoring and reporting inventory and material usage during construction.
- Assist in identifying and troubleshooting construction problems and provide timely, safe solutions.
- Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.
