Construction Support Intern - Virginia
About The Position
Vivmark Residential is hiring a Construction Intern in Construction Support Services (preconstruction), located at one or more construction projects in its construction markets. The internship provides hands-on experience in construction management for multifamily apartment communities, with exposure to planning and estimating new projects based on product type, materials, schedules, and other considerations. Interns work with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, Lead Engineers, and Architects, and learn how changes, clarifications, directives, and RFIs are updated and coordinated with team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to help maintain efficient schedules. All Construction Interns participate in a Summer Learning Series led by Vivmark Construction leaders, offering opportunities to meet leaders and learn about construction-industry roles and Vivmark’s construction processes. Interns also learn about the company’s Incident and Injury-Free Workplace safety culture, recognizing and reinforcing safe practices, and applicable safety laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong math comprehension and calculation skills.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and curiosity about the construction process and industry.
- Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
- Bias for action and eagerness to see tasks through to completion.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Desire to expand and apply academic construction-management knowledge in real-world situations and gain exposure to new areas of the business.

- Prior construction-related internships or work experience is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
