Construction Project Manager (Hybrid, Seattle)

NordstromSeattle, WA
Hybrid

About The Position

As a Construction Project Manager at Nordstrom, you'll lead construction projects across our retail stores, supply chain facilities, and corporate offices — from early scoping through final closeout. You'll own the full project lifecycle, keeping work on track across budget, schedule, and quality while navigating the complexity and pace of a dynamic retail environment. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, leads with clarity, and builds trust with people at every level. You’ll bring a strategic mindset to every project, anticipating risks before they materialize, making sound decisions with incomplete information and managing complexity across multiple workstreams without losing sight of the bigger picture.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of construction project management experience with on-site execution in fast-paced retail environments
  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
  • Strong foundation in estimating, contracts, site operations, and safety within operating stores
  • Strong communicator and problem solver with exceptional organizational skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects, interpret contract documents and MEP systems, and build trust across multidisciplinary teams to drive clear, effective decision-making
  • Forward-thinking, quality-driven professional with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficient in industry tools (Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, Coupa, AutoCAD, scheduling software)
  • Willing to travel up to 40%

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage project scope, budget, and schedule end-to-end by partnering with stakeholders, proactively tracking costs, timelines, and risks, and identifying solutions that balance speed, cost, and quality
  • Support contract execution and compliance by collaborating with real estate, legal, internal teams, and external partners, while managing change orders, payments, closeout documentation, and complex stakeholder relationships
  • Lead design development by producing clear scope documentation, managing external consultants through permitting and inspections, and rigorously documenting decisions, changes, and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee construction from bid through closeout by selecting qualified contractors, managing general contractors and trades, coordinating with jurisdictions and store teams, and ensuring delivery meets time, cost, quality, and program expectations
