About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects for the organization while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope. The IT Construction Project Manager serves as the IT Infrastructure subject matter expert and works with sponsoring organizations and key stakeholders to define the IT Infrastructure scope, business objectives, and required project results. They oversee all the IT networking aspects of these projects, set deadlines, request equipment purchases, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize the progress of project, and gather all close out documentation. The employee builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. The project manager is familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management to departments for low voltage installations and network and wireless designs in new construction, departmental moves, and existing space renovations using resources to ensure network connectivity for project completion.
  • Review construction drawings and ensures adherence to the University Structured Low Voltage Cabling Standards and attends, schedules and/or facilitates meetings related to construction projects.
  • Monitor and track tasks assigned to others, deliverables and provides project status updates to Manager.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the University’s low voltage structured wiring standards and serves on committee.
  • Stay current with BICSI and industry standards for low voltage and fiber cabling.
  • Assist Manager in creating/billing of expenses for projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
