About The Position

ATCS is hiring an intern for its 2027 Summer Internship Program, running from May/June through August 2027. The internship supports the Program Management/Construction Management (PMCM) team in ATCS’s Herndon, Virginia office. The intern will gain hands-on experience on transportation and infrastructure projects, working alongside project managers, engineers, construction professionals, and other team members, with exposure to both the technical and management aspects of project delivery.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in program management, construction management, and transportation infrastructure.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework related to construction, project management, engineering, or transportation.
• Previous internship or related experience; not required.
• Exposure to project scheduling, construction management, or engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Support project and construction management teams on transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with project documentation, reports, schedules, and other project deliverables.
• Track and organize project information, including schedules, costs, and progress updates.
• Assist with field observations and construction-related activities as opportunities arise.
• Review project plans, specifications, and other technical documents.
• Participate in project meetings and assist with meeting documentation and follow-up items.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and other team members to support project delivery.
• Assist with other technical and administrative tasks as needed.
