About The Position

Wight & Company is seeking a summer intern to join its Construction Management group for Summer 2027. The intern will work with the construction team on projects and collaborate with the company’s architects and engineers. Construction Management interns may work on-site at a project in the Chicagoland area and can network with professionals and interns across the company’s departments.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• Strong communication skills.
• Reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned job sites in the Chicagoland area.
• Basic understanding of construction materials and methods.
• Good organization and computer skills.
• Openness to learning and having fun.

Responsibilities

• Shadow superintendents and document on-site progress.
• Work with Project Managers to prepare project estimates, schedules, contracts, and other project-specific management tasks.
• Attend in-house and on-site team and client meetings for construction projects, representing Wight & Company.
• Develop and maintain strong client relations.
