About The Position
Wight & Company is seeking a summer intern to join our Construction Management group. This internship offers the opportunity to work with the construction team on projects, collaborate with Wight's architects and engineers, and gain hands-on experience on-site at projects in the Chicagoland area. The program also provides numerous opportunities to network with professionals and interns from various departments, fostering career-long relationships. Requirements
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Construction Management or related field
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned job site(s) in the Chicagoland area
- Basic understanding of construction materials and methods
- Good organization and computer skills
- Openness to learn and have fun
Responsibilities
- Shadow superintendents and document on-site progress
- Work with Project Managers in preparing project estimates, schedules, contracts and other project-specific managerial tasks
- Attend team and client meetings in-house and on-site for construction projects, representing Wight & Company
- Develop and maintain strong client relations
