About The Position

The Progressive Companies Summer Internship Program is a paid, full-time experience designed to launch your career. You'll take part in hands-on client projects, sharpen your problem-solving and communication skills, and gain a front-row seat to the world of architecture, design, engineering, and construction. Working alongside experienced mentors in a multi-disciplinary firm setting, you'll learn the tools and methods that build a strong foundation for your future career. Along the way, you'll take part in project site visits, volunteer outings, networking opportunities, and education sessions - all designed to fuel your career and your curiosity. As a Construction Management Intern, you will work collaboratively with construction project managers and superintendents to assist with construction projects from design through construction. Typical work includes preparing project work scopes, initiating project startup, creating and maintaining construction schedules, organizing job sites, scheduling inspections, promoting job site safety, and supervising completion of a final punch list.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an accredited Construction Management Bachelor’s degree program.
  • At least one year of undergraduate studies completed by Summer 2027.
  • Basic knowledge of site safety and other trends in the design/construction industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate well with others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Project, SharePoint, and Teams preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the project team to help meet project schedules and budgets.
  • Assist in managing multiple projects in a timely, accurate manner, monitoring progress against project scope and available resources.
  • Create project work scopes with the Project Manager and Construction leadership for bidding, pre-bid meetings, and post-bid interviews.
  • Help maintain an overall construction schedule using Microsoft Project, coordinating with the owner and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities, maintaining daily field reports.
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and enforce OSHA requirements on the jobsite.
  • Prepare, schedule, and supervise completion of a final punch list.
