About The Position

The Thrasher Group is seeking a Construction Inspector to support their construction projects in Mason County, West Virginia, as an independent contractor (1099). This role is crucial for ensuring successful project implementation, involving construction oversight, documentation, quality assurance, and stakeholder communication. Thrasher partners with independent contractors who possess specialized skills and desire the flexibility to manage their own schedules and workloads while contributing to community-focused projects.

Requirements

3–5 years of relevant construction inspection experience
Ability to provide proof of independent contractor status (e.g., business license, general liability insurance) as required by contract
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

OSHA 10, CPR, and first aid certifications
Experience as a treatment plant operator with Class 3 or higher water treatment certification

Responsibilities

Participate in on-site activities, collaborating with residents, property owners, and contractors
Monitor construction progress, adherence to plans, and compliance with specifications
Maintain detailed records of project quantities, daily reports, and changes
Keep accurate redline and as-built drawings to document project modifications
Monitor work to identify and prevent construction defects
Ensure projects meet quality standards and specifications
Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders, including owners, engineers, and contractors
Coordinate information flow to keep all parties informed throughout the project
Travel to project sites as needed, including extended stays away from home during the week
