Grade Checker -PHOENIX METRO AREA
About The Position
Rummel Construction, Inc. is seeking experienced Grade Checkers for projects throughout Arizona, with possible out-of-state travel. This safety-sensitive position sets grade stakes to guide earth-moving equipment operators during cut-and-fill, sloping, excavation, and backfilling work at residential, commercial, heavy civil, highway, and energy sites. The Grade Checker uses measuring instruments and hand tools, marks and reads survey stakes to determine grade specifications, and observes, directs, and controls equipment excavation activities to ensure work conforms to stake references. The role requires communication with equipment operators, supervisors, and management. Work typically takes place Monday through Friday, although some project schedules may require weekend work, and involves substantial walking, bending, stopping, and lifting.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience performing grade checking.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform substantial walking, bending, stopping, and lifting.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with the Trimble GPS Rover System.
