About The Position

JMT Landscape Group LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team. This role involves analyzing civil, architectural, landscape, and structural drawings to prepare competitive and accurate estimates for specialty outdoor construction projects. The estimator will collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and company leadership to ensure proposals are thorough, competitive, and profitable. This position offers variety, problem-solving opportunities, and the chance to see projects come to life, moving beyond traditional landscape estimating into complex outdoor construction and amenity projects.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of estimating, project engineering, project coordination, or construction management experience, OR field leadership experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, Crew Leader, or skilled trades professional looking to transition into an office role.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable: Site Construction, Hardscape, Concrete, Masonry, Carpentry, Fencing, Playgrounds, Structural Landscaping, Site Furnishings, Specialty Construction.
  • Experience with Bluebeam or similar digital takeoff software is preferred.
  • Experience with estimating or project management software is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Enjoys solving construction challenges.
  • Communicates professionally by phone, email, and in person.
  • Is organized and able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Takes ownership of their work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs using digital estimating software.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and scope gaps.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Develop complete project estimates and bid proposals.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and the Preconstruction Team throughout the bidding process.
  • Maintain organized bid files, estimating databases, and historical cost information.
  • Continuously improve estimating processes and pricing accuracy.
