About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a Console Operator for its Baptist IT Center team. Console Operators serve as the voice of Baptist Health, welcoming and addressing the needs of internal and external callers directed to Baptist Medical Center hospitals and stand-alone Emergency Rooms in Northeast Florida. They prioritize and respond to calls on the health system’s internal emergency line and alert hospital emergency response teams using the appropriate emergency communication management system.

Requirements

• Less than one year of related experience required.
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome callers and address their needs, aiming for first-call resolution for internal and external calls directed to Baptist Medical Center hospitals and stand-alone Emergency Rooms in Northeast Florida.
• Prioritize, answer, and respond to calls on the Baptist Health System internal emergency line.
• Listen effectively and communicate clearly and concisely through the appropriate emergency communication management system to alert hospital emergency response teams.
• Manage hospital emergency lines using hospital emergency procedures; notify the appropriate medical or non-medical response teams and, when appropriate, local authorities; and complete documentation thoroughly and accurately.
• Screen calls for hospital leadership and staff members.
• Operate telephone, switchboard console, intercom, or paging systems.
• Review and maintain knowledge of updated Baptist Health System policies, procedures, and hospital information.
