The Fisheries Management Division has seasonal openings for a single position in Pioche and two positions in Las Vegas. The position durations range from 3-9 months. These positions are responsible for assisting Biologists with numerous activities on waters in Clark, Esmeralda, Lincoln, and Nye counties. Primary duties generally include assisting Biologists with aquatic species population monitoring, angler surveys, fish introductions and translocations, stocking fish, nonnative species eradication projects, hatchery duties, aquatic habitat restoration, aquatic habitat monitoring, data collection and entry, and maintaining field equipment in good working order. Some positions may include working four 10-hour days in the field and camping at remote location sites on the workdays. This position requires a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The position may also assist with conservation education programs and public events. Conservation Assistants participate in projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.
