About The Position

IPL Schoeller, formed by the merger of IPL Plastics and Schoeller Allibert on July 1, 2025, is a leading manufacturer of sustainable rigid packaging solutions. With operations across North America and Europe, the company employs approximately 4,100 people. We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering a high-performance culture centered on accountability and employee development. You will serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and management, providing strong expertise in labor relations, employee relations, compliance, and disability management within a unionized environment. Your ability to balance strategic vision with practical implementation will directly contribute to creating a positive and productive workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, labor standards, and CNESST (LATMP).
  • Solid experience in labor relations, grievance management, and collective agreements.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and build trust at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day advice on disciplinary actions, including drafting necessary documentation and supporting supervisors.
  • Facilitate meetings between management and employees regarding performance and conduct issues.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee issues and workplace concerns.
  • Manage and investigate grievances and participate in monthly grievance committee meetings.
  • Support arbitration processes and investigations.
  • Manage internal job postings for unionized positions, ensuring compliance with collective agreement requirements.
  • Monitor probationary periods and selection processes.
  • Actively participate in labor relations committees and maintain in-depth knowledge of the collective agreement.
  • Contribute to collective bargaining strategy and agreement renewal negotiations.
  • Manage all CNESST-related matters, including claims, appeals, retroactive plans, and administrative procedures.
  • Coordinate with insurers and participate in negotiations.
  • File and manage long-term disability insurance claims and follow up on them.
  • Advise employees on collective agreement provisions (types of leave, benefits, long-term disability insurance, etc.).
  • Review and validate monthly group insurance invoices.
  • Process changes related to employee benefits and requests.
  • Track and produce monthly reports on HR key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of HR data in systems (e.g., IFS, SOFE).
  • Support HR system administration and continuous data monitoring.
  • Provide backup support for weekly payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and business leaders to align HR strategies with operational objectives.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at fostering employee engagement, retention, and continuous improvement.
