About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR is seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Conferencing Manager to join our team supporting a government client with locations in the Northern Virginia Area. This is a contingent position based upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Five (5) years of proven work experience as an Event Planner or Conference Manager.
  • Knowledge of KPIs and conferencing software for event management.
  • Personnel management experience with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret, capture, and manage customer requirements and expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) year degree in marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to the conferencing team for planning, organizing and executing events such as conferences, training and meetings.
  • Fully coordinate and collaborate on all tasks, activities, requirements and issues as they pertain to the support of the Customer’s conferencing and training events.
  • Develop conferencing event plans and schedules, and define and document the implementation of requirements.
  • Manage customer expectations with proactive, consistent and transparent communication.
  • Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including catering, venue selection, logistics, AV requirements, and scheduling.
  • Work closely with event point of contact, stakeholders, food service, logistics, security, and vendors to ensure the event objectives are met.
  • Develop the event budget in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring all expenses are accounted for, and provide to appropriate government POCs for approval.
  • Manage approved budget throughout the event.
  • Conduct post event evaluations with POC, attendees and event support teams to assess the event’s success and identify areas for improvement.
