Requirements

  • Hospitality-oriented.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in Catering or Food and Beverage, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, suppliers, and hotel staff.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong leadership skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, good customer service skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Solid competencies in business planning, account management, and budgeting.
  • Must work well under pressure, even with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle the pressure of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to client issues.
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish/English).

Responsibilities

  • Verify that contracts are signed and filed before the function dates.
  • Record deposits made by guests, including the signed receipt.
  • Update all BEO's, including changes, and inform the kitchen and banquet manager.
  • Ensure that engineering, housekeeping, PBX, or restaurant departments receive BEO's relevant to their areas.
  • Communicate with the client to confirm the guaranteed number of attendees for all functions 48-72 business hours before the function.
  • Prepare a monthly report of lost business and cancellations.
  • Verify the daily activity sheet before distribution.
  • Verify the future activity sheet before distribution.
  • Order and verify audiovisual units or any other external services.
  • Knowledge of reservation procedures (Room reservations, Room blocks, and function rooms).
  • Be aware of the forecast and budget.
  • Finalize food, beverage, and set-up needs.
  • Establish and maintain communication with the guest throughout all functions.
  • Establish communication with the executive chef, banquet manager, and team members.
  • Recommend and identify new ideas, methods, and/or markets.
