About The Position

The Concierge at Sterling Vineyards provides visitors with a warm, gracious welcome and helps them understand the wine experience and other information that can enhance their visit. The role also serves as a reservationist for the tasting room, taking reservations by phone and in person and entering guest information into the reservation system. The position requires availability on weekends, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as some holidays and evenings.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Some experience in retail sales or a similar hospitality setting.
Exemplary customer service skills.
Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate knowledge of wines and wine production.
Positive attitude and dynamic approach.
Clean, professional appearance and strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as some holidays and evenings.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of food and wine, the wine industry, and Napa and Bay Area restaurants.
Wine industry and/or tasting-room experience is highly desired but not required.

Responsibilities

Set up and host wine tastings and tours for guests.
Provide high-quality customer service to site visitors.
Assist with events, private dinners, and other site activities.
Help with restocking, inventory, wine packing, and maintaining the floor.
Support register operations, retail sales, and wine club promotions.
Follow site policies and procedures.
Complete projects and other duties as directed by the Retail Sales Manager.
Welcome visitors and provide information about the wine experience and other aspects of their visit.
Take tasting-room reservations by phone or in person and enter guest information into the reservation system.
